Dan is halfway around the world (in Baghdad), so I'm putting this up in his stead. I know it'll lose the formatting, but the message is the same. I'll post his CV in a separate post. Here's his position paper:

--------------------------------------------

I consider being selected by the Fair Elections Committee for the position President-Elect a privilege and an honor. I would like to represent each and every member of this disguinshed organization.

I welcome the opportunity to represent the members of the APA and to carry on with the
Strategic Plan which has been put into place by Presidents Krapohl and Dutton in order to take this profession to the next level. I will work with President-Elect Gougler regarding plans for the future of the APA. One of major things I would like to accomplish is having a finalized PCSOT policy which unites all examiners conducting these types of exams.

During the last 27 years, I have demonstrated my commitment to the APA. This is one of the main reasons I have decided to seek this position. As a private examiner, I have attended 21 Annual Conferences. In 1998, I was awarded the Al & Dorthea Clinchard Award and in 2002, I received the Leonarde Keeler Award. I have been published in several journals concerning the use of polygraph as an assessment tool with sex offenders, conducted workshops at conferences for treatment providers and polygraph examiners in the United States and in the United Kingdom. In 2007, I conducted polygraph examinations while in Afghanistan on the behalf of a US Government agency. A Quality Control Examiner from that agency verified each of those exams which demonstrated that a private examiner can conduct proper examinations. Between January and April, 2008 I will be in Baghdad conducting training on behalf of our government.

I further believe we need to explore other uses of polygraph such as with Domestic Violence Offenders, Drug Offenders, DUI Offenders and others as well. We need to reach out to our International members since they are a fast growing segment. We need to continue a working relationship with our fellow examiners at AAPP and develop additional strategies for effective Law Enforcement Polygraph Testing. We also need to develop a better working relationship between Private and Government Examiners to ensure a cohesive bond amongst examiners.

I believe a strong foundation must be built and that foundation starts with the basic training of any examiner in the field of polygraph anywhere in the world. As with any building which is constructed, proper maintenance must be maintained otherwise the building could easily crumble due to a lack of proper care.

Thank you for your consideration.

Don't mention it Dan.

Does anyone have a photograph of Roy---one other than the fuzzy APA group shots?

Also, does anyone have a picture of Barry other than his group shot?

email it to me in confidence at www.johnsonpolygraph@aol.com

Thanks!

That is so funny----as I didn't know who Screamin Jay Hawkins was----so I googled and to my shock, I distinctly remember seeing this man perform on TV when I was 5 or 6 yrs old----and his smoking little skull cane scared me enough to give me a nightmare.
Hilarious!

I saw Screamin' Jay at a blues show in Santa Monica during 89. Great show with the gold lamee suit and the smoking skull on an elephant tusk. The rowdy crowd had to leave when the tables started breaking...

Screamin' Jay has been a zombie now for the past couple of years.

I think he spent his last years in Paris.

Ted I was kidding about you being a teen in 1954. (lol)

As for Screamin Jay, I think he was kind of the Black version of Alice Cooper-----infamous for gore and lore at his shows. And like Alice Cooper, he seems to try hard in theatrics to make up for the fact that he is either tone-deaf or tone-tasteless.

My 2 cents.

Bill2E,
I am assuming you are referring to me-----the guy that has time on his hands. You are right----I need something to occupy my time better. So, I suggest you log onto ebay and find me a 1930 Ford Model A roadster that needs my attention----buy it----send it to me----and then I won't have time to yuck it up with Ray over obscure funk singers from the 60's and 70's.
And Bill, regarding the Ford....painted flames, or no flames?
